Pasture Surveys
Pasture rotation is key to the success of your cattle. Cattle will selectively graze, eating their favorite foods and leaving what they don’t like. This is how good pastureland turns into thistles and burdocks! The cattle eat everything but the thistles and burdocks and the thistles and burdocks remains. Then, all that is left to do is till up the soil and start over. However, the farmers may rotate their animals through pastures faster than they destroy the grass. By allowing the grass time to recover, they may keep their pastures in good condition. A pasture survey would be used to divide a large pasture into small pastures for rotational grazing. This survey would ensure that all the pastures consist of the same amount of area.
